When a mom cat feels that there is something threatening her babies, she will eat them in order to protect them
A part of us as human's will always be over protective in terms if raising our children, therefor companies such as the one releasing this technology will always take advantage of such feelings which is completely WRONG.
Children needs to be taught responsibility in an early age, in order to prepare them to be self indepent in the future.
Standards and manuals will be written by the owners of such items for using such technology, but still it will be missed used by the parents due to our nature.

An interesting opinion. I think you have seen that the company is exploiting the feelings of parents and that parents will abuse this new product.

However, do parents have the right to know where their children are at all times?

Thats a good question Michael, do they have the right? well I guess it depends on the culture. about the fact that the company is taking advantage, I see it as a solution in addition to what you said. if its over priced then I'm with you, the company is taking advantage, but if there other companies developing similar technologies then it is what the market should be like. back at home, a mobile company launched a mobile phone for underaged to help their parents find where they are in case of being missing. I think its always good to have such technologies for the over protective parents, because i think its not easy to teach children responsabilities

I have seen products like these being marketed in a number of countries. I think child safety is an important issue. However, too many companies make feel insecure so consumers will buy their products. Security companies are an example of this. They sometimes scare us into buying products like house alarms by using incorrect statistics or disturbing images.
