Real People, Real Views, Real Experiences

This is a great website from the BBC called Video Nation. It has a series of videos of real people talking about their views and experiences. Go to the Video Archive, which you can find on the left side of the page, and choose a topic that interests you.

Better Speaking

Do you want to improve your speaking skills? Here is a great website for you. The website has a series of interviews with advice on how to improve your speaking skills.

"Better Speaking is all about how you can become a fluent, confident speaker of English. In the programmes we hear from learners of English from around the world and also from someone who specialises in teaching speaking, trainer Richard Hallows. Better Speaking is presented by Callum Robertson".

You can stream the interviews off the internet or download them. You will need a pair of headphones or some speakers to listen to the interviews.

Pronunciation Tips

The BBC Learning English website has a great section on Pronunciation Tips. Click here. It's an interactive website which means that you can click on sounds and hear how to pronounce them correctly. You will need some headphones or  speakers to hear the sounds.

Here's how to use the website:
  1. Choose a unit which focuses on sounds that you have trouble with (e.g. Unit 5 Sock and Coat).
  2. Follow the instructions on the website.
  3. Don't forget to say the sound aloud if the website tells you to.
There are also some interesting sections on features of English. If you feel really motivated try one of the quizzes too.

Good Luck
